Pulling codes on a 99 GSX-L ?
I've heard of people pulling codes by doing something with the key and set button and others having to be hooked up to the dealers system...can I pull codes on a 99 GSX-L 951 ?

Only on the fuel injected skis I think starting in 98 gtx rfi, but skis with ecm and yours has a mpem, so no you can't on that one.as the limited ones are carbed

Yea there are no codes available on carbed machines.

Hmmm, that sucks ...thanks guys
So can this ski be hooked to the dealers system at all for more info? Or any thing carbed your just on your own trying to diagnose the issue?

The only thing hooking it up will do is add keys, reset maint. Hours and adjust ignition timing.

Also, what does the maintenance light mean and how can I clear it?

How many hours on it? My old 2000 gtx came up with the Mtc code at exactly 225hrs - not sure if it is in multiples if 25hrs or not (purchased at 215 hrs) but went away after some more use.

75 I believe...but I'm also having other issues and I'm not sure if it's just happening to be at the same time as the service interval light or if the MAINT light means anything besides bring it to dealer for a check up or whatever...
