Thread: crankcase damage

Would forgetting to put the 2 spacer washer on the uppermost bearing under the piston cause the skirt to catch the upper crankcase put a hole in it and break off the piston skirts on a 2000 gp1200r?

No I don't think so. Something else cause the skirt to break off.

WSM kits even say no washers there.
Did you have the crank checked when you did top end?

hey thanks for all the quick replys, i never rebuilt the top end but when i took it apart its the only thing i found different from the other cylinders. it is possible that the previous owner rebuilt that one cylinder and never match the bore because the cylinder itself is not badly scared just the 2 cylinder skirts were broke off as well. thanks again for the help. GH is the best.
