X model ECU into GTX LTD

    Hello all

    Just confirming

If i install an X model ECU into my 08 GTX LTD

I should then be able to safely run an xcharger+external IC+42s without running a RRFPR and AFR monitor...

Technically the fueling at idle should be better as well because its actually programmed for 42s

    Am i right?

    thanks
    Luke

Theorhetically yes! Pulse width is different but not by much. Engine is built to the same tolerances. Should work if you can get it to start.

My question is... why would you wanna swap ecu's in the first place. I'm running a Mini Rude with 48's and stock ecu and have a stock ecu. Does the x ecu have a higher rev limiter by chance?

Just different fuel mapping eg compatible out of the box with external intercooler/xcharger

Theoretically should be cleaner at lower revs because its calibrated for 42s instead of 38s

Plus looks like it would be cheaper than RRFPR (normal diy rrfpr does not appear possible on 08+) and wideband

DIY rrfpr works fine on 08s.

I did this on a 07 rxp and it worked out great. The acceleration difference was night and day. Forget regulators, afr gauges and just ride. Don't forget you need the 42lb injectors. And you lose 150 rpms with the x set up

Hmmmm..... As hard as rpms are to come by I'd rather stick with what I got IMHO. Been working like a champ and no issues.

The X ecu makes more power at the lower RPM though there is very little speed loss. It is not for everyone some people dont care if they are sloppy with fuel at the bottom and middle. Hell some dont even know they are leaving acceleration on the table because the only thing that matters to them is the GPS reading.

How do you remove the internal regulator? (that riva supplies a block off for?)
