    Wetsuit ideas

Now that I'm out of college I can ride later into the year...any tips on what to look for in a wetsuit/dry suit and gloves?

I ride in the bay with occasional ocean riding so I do get wet a lot. Don't plan on riding through the winter, just maybe until early-mid October type of deal.

Would also like opinions on the JetPilot style jacket.

I know next to nothing about this kind of stuff.

I would go with a 3mm to 5mm full body wetsuit. I ride in the the ocean alot and I have a 3mm full body suit. 3mm would be ideal, and it's easier to get in and out of, No need for a dry suit, they do cost alot more. As for glove go to your local dive shop or sporting good store and look at their selection of dive glove,

Go to a place that will let you try it on. I bought my full body suit (RipCurl) at a surf shop in Manasquan and a shorty in a place on Route 36 south in Highlands/Atlantic Highlands. I bought sizes that were bigger than I buy for clothes.

Get a suit what fit you snug but not too tight wetsuit are made out of neoprene when it gets wet it will expand a little, so when you try on a suit even though it feel a little tight dont worry it will expand once you hit the water... Wet suit keep you warm by your body heat and the little water that will seep into your suit and it getting wet itself, I have a 8.5mm wetsuit I use for deep diving and it keep me not warm but hot... So I recommend a 3 mm should be fine Any brand is good dont need to go out and buy expensive suit. If you can find a local dive shop they help you find a wetsuit suit or give you an idea...

Tour coat is the way to go, once it gets cold, late oct, nov, dec, jan i throw on a tour coat, some UA underneath it, water resistant pants, boots, a pair of jet pilot gloves, a full neoprene mask F(must have for cold riding) and oakley H2O goggles, good to ride

Ended up getting a Jet Pilot tour coat, Slippery gloves, Slippery pants, booties for ~$150 from Toms River Yamaha/Kawasaki since they're having a sale on all gear. Wore it everything yesterday and was pretty warm except for my face. The strong winds made me try my hood but it kept moving down, encroaching on my vision when I tied the drawstrings together.

Monaco, where'd you get the facemask? I was thinking of trying the Underamor under the tour coat next time as added warmth if it gets colder since there was room.

Get yourself a full face helmet for the cold days! It`s much warmer and it cuts down on the noise as well...
you can score a decent one for a good price at motorcycle superstore.com
