    Starting issues

My wake pro 215 has always had problems getting the two beeps on the first try, usually have to try multiple times/angles to get it to beep twice to start. The ski use to start up fine if I didn't remove the key after shutting down, say if I shut it off for a few minutes and just float talking with friends. Lately if I shut it down even for a second, it wont restart without going through the whole key procedure, remove/hit start/put key back on/wait for 2 beeps.... It is getting pretty annoying. Is there some setting I might have screwed up or is this just how they start?

Sounds like your DESS post is bad. Either that or your key is corroded and starting to wear. My bet is on the DESS post.

Thanks.... I'll have it looked at by the dealer, its a 2011 so it shouldn't be having these issues already!

The 2011 Wake Pro has the iControl system, just like the iS skis. There are a lot of these types of DESS problems reported with the iControl system skis, as they all use a Bosch ECU.

Sounds stupid, but make sure the nut that holds the post is tight. If they start to get loose, they'll have trouble starting.

I had the dealer look at it last week, they stated they couldn't replicate it.... so I replicated it right in front of them, lol! They kind of looked stumped, but it stopped doing it after you got it to beep twice a couple of times. So they told me to keep an eye on it and bring it back if it keeps doing it.... I think I am just going to have to get used to it being a PITA to start sometimes

I would take some dielectric grease and put it on the post. Wipe it off really well. Clean the contacts between the DESS key and post. See if that helps at all.
