Error P0344... engine turns over and then shuts off with "Check Engine"

Anyone know what code P0344 means? Cannot get the ski to stay running. Thank you.

    Apparently it is:

    Cam phase sensor signal missing

Anyone know how to fix this?

Pulled valve cover... everything looks new under there.

    Cam chain is intact.

Cam sensor looks new. Any ideas about what the resistance it should read when unplugged is?

Tried a CAPS dynamic test and it appears that I am getting ~12 VDC no matter what (whether or not CAPS sensor is touching a metallic object). Does this mean that the CAPS sensor is bad (i.e. stuck closed)?

Thanks, I am kind of lost here.

The cam sensor test is really easy and straightforward. It shows it in the manual. Apply 12 volts to pin 3, ground on pin 1, and use a 1200 ohm resistor between pins 3 and 2. Put a voltmeter on pins 2 and 1, and it should be 12 volts. When you put something metal next to the end, it should drop to 1 volt or less.

Takes less than 5 minutes to do this check.....
