    how do you remove the exhaust on a 1995 yamaha wave venture

    What is the trick to getting the exhaust out?

    Need to pull the cylinder.

    Thanks very much. Is it easier to take the pipe apart in pieces then? Where did you get the diagram? Thanks

    First loosen hose #35 and slide down to expose the clamps for part #33. Disconnect hose #10, #24 & #47 from exhaust. Loosen and disconnect hose #45. Take bolts out of bracket #48. Top section of exhaust will now come out. Take the 8 bolts out of exhaust manifold #2. That will remove the lower part of the exhaust.

    Note to look inside 38/40 at the rubber piece #42 as that often gets clogged up with sand and debris and can cause overheating. Make sure the outer passages are clear.

    Thanks for the tip. The piston closest to the rear was missing a piece near the exhaust port. Is there any common cause of this? I bought this ski not running. I plan to clean the carbs next. I have the cylinder going to a machine shop to either hone or bore out the one cylinder.

    causes of blown engine is most likely carb failure or oil starvation from loose oil hose.
