    gpr last one

last one. this one shows the area empty of foam, notice yellow bung in picture which is used to fill area with expanding foam. All of the foam that was removed was waterlogged due to the cracks running through the foam so it acted as a sponge.

That hull is so fubar why not just find a different hull and part out the extra parts and put together a nice ski?? It sounds easier and cheaper. Hopefully the repairs will go ok and you won't have any problems down the road.

    Good Luck

    I agree. Ditch it.
Like I said to you in a previous post, there are a few empty gpr hulls lying around the U.K from where the racers have bought in the lightweight Yam special order racing hulls.
Just buy one of them (£500 ish seems to be the going rate), and stick all your mechanicalls in.
With wavejumping, that hull damage will ALWAYS be on your mind!

Looks like you've takin a very scientific approach and done your homework on proper resins for compatability with the SMC.I would remove all foam possible to prevent future waterlogging.I'll bet its stonger than before in the wrecked area when your done.Keep up the good work,Youll be back on the water in soon!

I would just sit down and cry if my hull had that much damage. I had a little "accident" a few years ago that cracked my hull right at the lip where the two halves are bonded together. It was about 10" long. Cost - $1,600 to repair.
