    Engine Flooding Issues

I bought a 99 XP Limited last August (my first). Since then the family and I found out that the engine seems to flood quite easily. I'm not talking about taking off and flipping over. But just having the rear underwater for a short time to get on the thing. Example... My brother (260 lbs) tried to climb up on the back of it and took about a minute or so to pull his self on to it. Once he got on he tried to start it up and it would not start. Pulled it over to the beach. Took out the plugs and water came out.
I've been told the to switch to the stock air box since the ski has prok flame arrestors. Would switching back to the stock air box help out? I'm not thinking so because the engine bay isn't filling up with water. If something was wrong with the waterbox would it help water induction into the engine?

Your reeds got broken from your brother flooding the ski. If you sink the ski alot the water gets in there. Then turning the motor over might breek them. Keep his ass off the ski or make him get on it right. I had this happen with a fat uncle in law. But it was roatory valve.

Reeds broke from something else. Ski ran fine for 3-4 months before the issues with reeds.
