    vts help

    does any body know , can i pull the vts motor by pulling the three nuts in the hull? or do u have to take it apart by the pump and pull it all thru the hull? my motor tock on water and rusted. i want to replace the motor

    If all you want to replace is the motor, you just remove the plastic cover, unplug the motor and remove the 3 or 4 nuts holding the motor in place.

    i pulled the vts cover loosend the thre 10mm nuts and tryed pulling it out and it didnt move. this is a 1999 gsx if that makes a diffrence. its got rust on it,is there a werm gear behind the motor? thanks

    Yes there is a worm gear but one you have removed the retainers for the motor it should pull straight out. Maybe try spraying some penetrant oil on the studs.

    thanks guys if i new it was this easy i would of fixed it years ago! i brought it to a local starter shop and they rebuilt it for 20.00 dollars works like new.
