    Rev's up But have a bad vibration

    I have an 01 1200 GPR

    Took it out today was running fine most of the day. Then on my way back in out of no where I get this BAD vibration. After this it would only run about 5mph it would rev up fine but had a bad vibration and would not go anywhere. I beached it and looked to see if I had something stuck or wrapped around the impeller or shaft but did not see anything. What could it be?

    ONE more thing I checked my speed on the GPS today and I am only getting up to about 53-54. I have riva heads running about 145psi, d-plate and intake grate. What speed should i be looking to get and what could be wrong.

    I guess the gps and compression was before the vibration. check your coupler to see if there is a gap between the motor and mid shaft. it sounds like the splines on the pump stripped and the mid shaft is pushing against the engine coupler. mine did that and vibrated like crazy.

    Does it vibrate on the trailer? How does it sound on the trailer?

    It could be something as simple as a twig between the impeller and wear ring or a piece of plastic on the blade of your intake grate. Look your pump system over completely.

    Smart money is on you loosing your mid shaft, but you have to check that simple stuff first. To check your mid shaft, you will have to pull the pump and inspect the inside of the mid shaft with a flash light. If the brass splines are missing, you will need a new one. Check the splines on your pump shaft as well. If they are pointed rather than fairly round or squared, you may have to get another pump shaft as well.

    Usually bad vibration and no speed whatsoever you have a foreign object stuck on the impeller blade

    It is pushing up against the engine coupler. How Do i get it out?

    You need to pull the pump and see whats going on. you also need to pull the mid shaft if its got the motor in a bind to get it back where it goes. most of the time you have to pull the motor to get the mid shaft out. but sometimes if you got the pump out and all the motor mount bolts out you can slide the motor forward enough to get it out.

    Have you had any pump work done lately.

    Got to messing with it today and when i went to loosen the motor mount bolts they were already loose. So i got to looking at it and it looked like the motor had slid back a little into the shaft
