    Wear Ring replacement question...

Will the Freezer method work on a 96 GTX or am I going to have to cut the old one out?

    Thanks in advance

I've got a '96 GTI that I just replaced the wear ring. Took about 15 miutes to cut and chip it out. I've only replaced 3 of these in the past but its not hard at all. (Removing the impeller is actually harder than removing the wear ring!) Trick is to get it cut/chipped out from top to bottom- then it will fold in on itself and slide out as one big piece.
