    Hello, newbie with a question

I am intrested in buying a jet ski so i have one or two question hopefully you can help me with

I am looking at a 99, yamaha waverunner GP760, engine is running but i dont know how many hours etc, looks like it is in good condition, engine is 2T as you know so any problems can be easily fixed so im not too worried about that

the price is 1500 euro's (im in ireland), so this works out at about $2150.
hopefully will be able to bargan him down so maybe under 2K ($) (do you think this is a good price?)

Are these ski's any use? what is the top speed? are they suitable for towing people on a ring for example or riding with two people and can they be modded easily to improve performance??

    Thanks
    Cathal

Welcome to the forum. The GP760 can be a great ski for you and can be modified if you desire. The first and most important thing is to be very thorough when your checking it out. Check the compression and make sure you ride it before you lay out any cash. You just want to make sure your not buying someone else's problems.

Like I said before, It can be a good and fun ski for you, just take it slow and know what your getting

You should be able to bring up the hours on the display by pressing the "Mode" button a few times. Engine has to be running to "wake up" the display. You could also start the engine (which wakes up the display) and then shut it off. the display will stay lit up for 20 seconds or so after shutting off the engine.

    Top speed= about 50 MPH
Can't tow an inflatable with a 2 person ski in the US. Needs to be a 3 person. Not sure if that law applies over there.
Riding 2 people is doable, but not a lot of fun on a GP. Weight limit is 350 pounds I think.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, no I don't think there is any law about towing rings and if there was I doubt it would be enforced.
50mph seems fast enough although would he nice to have a little extra,

What do you think about the price, does it seem reasonable?

Thanks for reply, would it be a good idea to save up a small bit more and get a 1200? I mean do you think I will be bored riding a 760, (I am used to driving motocross bikes)

    I've never ridden a 760, but I'd say the GP1200 is a better choice

If your wondering about wanting more power now, you'll definitely want more power later.

for towing and two people I'd get the 1200..the 760, thou the same hull ,will not pull out of the hole like a 1200 which is what you need for a tube..Load capacity of a GP is 325lbs ,so if your on the small side your good with two riders ,otherwise find a xlt...
