    Question How does this look?

So I bolted the ride plate up and the gap between the shoe and plate was 0.25 inches. I shimmed the plate down two in rear and one in front. (I think I am saying that right) Anyway the gap between the plate and shoe is now ~0.1875 inches. The plate angle is at 0.8125 inches and the step from the show to the plate is ~0.0625 inches. Pic below. Do these measurements seem right? Is the step from shoe to plate to much? Gap between shoe and plate? Plate Angle? I realize I will need to ride it, tune it, ride it etc. Just want to be somewhere in the ballpark. Thanks guys! Oh the plate is a Riva with Jim's FF mod.

Seams like some big gaps to me. Has the shoe been off and reset/sealed?

Yeah, i did the ppk and sealed the shoe. Took measurements, nickel test, made sure the shoe was forward. The plate without shims sits way up and away from the shoe.

When you tightened the plate were you pushing it towards the front of the ski while tightening? Ifnot you should be. Ifso.....

Yes but it looks like the bolts holes need to be elongated??...to get it to touch the transom and closer to the shoe. I was looking at the stock plate and it basically touches the transom.

WOW!! Sorry, but that plate fits like shit. Some of the pics are tough to distinguish what we are looking at because they are so close. It should be butted up against the transom like you said and a smooth transition from one to the other. I spoke to someone that bought a R&D Plate from me and he had the same troubles with his Riva plate. It hung down and fitment was not good. On the R&D plate with Jim's FF mod, I have single washers in the front and no washers in the back. I then shimmed the tabs to 100 thou for speed run and for the rough water and all around use I shimmed the tabs to 130 thou and use the R&D extended nozzle, but every ski is different so you will have to play around with it to get it right for you.

Like you said, maybe if you elongate the holes you can get it to fit better. All my gaps are about a 1/16 - 1/8 inch.

Keep us posted and good luck.
