    electric stator

this is my first ski. has a bad stator coils checked open wen checked at end of wire as per the shop manual. my question is, do i need a specific part number for the stator, or will ne one from a 92-95 work as the manual does not state this. thanks in advance. o its a 1993 polaris sl 650 and the manual i have is for 92-95 polaris water vehicle shop manual.

Any 650 stator will work for you.

Only issue is, the 92 and 93 used different electrical connectors than 94 and 95. So you may just need to swap ends is all.

ok so the 750 and 650 are not interchangeable even from the same years then? and i had read somewhere about the analog signal on the 92-93 but went to a digital signal after that? thanks again in advance.

    All 650 are analog signal.

93 750 was analog, while 94 and 95 went digital.

That's an intersting point about the 93 750 stator being used in a 650. I'm not sure how that will turn out, but I'll be watching that one closely.

As for the dual timing marks, it appears the manual wants you to verify timing with a timing light. But, just for ease of installation, I personally would make a template with the stator containing 1 mark. Then lay the new dual marked stator EXCATLY in it's place on the template. (align the slotted mounting holes EXACTLY the same) Then transfer the single mark location onto the dual marked stator and align it with the engine case "seam"
