    Cavitiation on 04' RXP

    Guys:

In 2005 I was following a huge houseboat, when I launched off one of the waves going WFO. Probably flew 15 feet into the air. The boat landed and barrel rolled a few times and came to a rest upright.

Ever since then, when I take off from a dead stop (Pinning it WFO), it cavitates real bad.

I have a stainless steel wear ring and the tolerances are fine.

I think I may have shifted the motor on the motor mounts. At least that is my theory.

I replaced the carbon ring right after this happened, thinking it was that with no change in the symptoms.

COuld shifted motor mounts cause this? ( I am thinking yes)

Is there a way to take some measurements to see if the motor is twisted on its mounts?

What is your advice on how to proceed?

It can You need to pull the pump and get a alignment tool the easiest way other than obvious breakage.

Really not trying to be a tool here but.... This is why people see jetskiers and give them a bad name. Senseless and careless acts kill people. A little common sense is everything on a pwc. The need for WOT running all day is not necessary. Ride responsibly. Slow down and enjoy the ride. Behind a large boat isn't the smartest time to rip and tear through the water.

That being said, get an alignment tool and line her back up. Replace your motor mounts and you should be good. Why are you trying to rectify the problem 6 years later?

I almost guarantee the engine shifted on the motor mounts some from the sound of what that ski experienced.
