    Another used motec purchase

    I am purchasing a motec that was originally purchased for a seadoo.
    trying to see what else i need to get started besides the wiring harness, mapping,mounting kit !!!
    my basic mods are:

    jd offshore air intake
    C5 wheel with R&D shaft,
    watercooled supercharger housing,
    jd intercooler,
    riva rrfpr,
    intake ribbon removed,
    725cc dynamic injectors,
    riva cam gears,
    riva internals kit with .040 oversized pistons,
    riva waterbox,
    riva freeflow,
    oem pump with the twin prop 8500+ rpms
    probably going to upgrade to a skat 8 vein or 12 vein 160mm pump this winter
    i use this ski for rec. riding and endurance racing.
    prefered fuel is chevron 91 octane.

    HI Gordon
    Congrats on getting your first MoTeC
    I looked up the serial number and see that your box is simply enabled
    To run the Yamaha you will need the Drive By Wire upgrade
    You can get this from Jerry, simply quote your serial number and make the payment.
    I would also strongly suggest that you consider the logging and lambda upgrades, with these and a lambda sensor wired in I will be able to help you tune your engine to perfection.
    With out logging you have no idea how the ski is performing, if its running a bit hot, how much boost it is making or exactly the rpm that it is pulling etc etc.
    Supplying you a succesful map with out the need for tuning is going to be difficult.
    The reasons are below

    1. Normally the MAPS I supply to customers are to suit Non RR fuel pressure, and I could tell you to disconnect yours but at 50 PSI fuel pressure and high RPM if your prop is allowing it you would run out of injector. (needs 1000cc injectors for high rpm)
    2. To complicate this further the majority of MAPs are designed for "98Aussie 93 USA octane" so the ignition timing would have to be a bit of a guess especially if we do not know if the AFR is going to be even close.
    3. The CAM gears can make a big difference to the fuelling requirements under 3000 and if they have been moved away from standard position then the engine may not even idle.

    None of these are an issue if you can send me logging of the AFR then I will be able to tune it to suit, which is of course the whole idea of a MoTeC ECU.
    And of course if you have the skills or you know someone who has the skills to tune it then I can send you a start file to suit.

    i will definetly get the logging and lamda upgrades.

    as far as fuel i already use 93 to 95 octane for the enduros.

    as far as the injectors i do not mind ugrading to 1,000 cc.

    i was trying to see if i could use the 725cc or find out what there limitations are.

    if i could get a base map to start with that would be great, i do have a tuner who can help get me started with the tunning process.
