2000 virage 700cc engine problems!
my brother has a 2000 virage with 300 hours on it and he had it on the river the other day and was running about 6000 rpm and all of a sudden it lost power and was acting like it need fuel so he tried limping it to a shore line but never made it the motor just locked up so i had him bring it to my house and i started tearing it down and the pto piston has meta chunks on top of it and looks like the wrist pin broke and smashed into the piston! now my question is how can i tell if this messed up the crank or not and what all would be involved in fixing a motor that locked up like this?

ok well i ripped it apart today and found out the connecting rod melted and snapped rite at the crank then got pinned in the between
the crank and case! the case looks fine but the crank is messed up forsure so my question is where can i get a new crank or does any one on here have a used crank with connecting rods?

Contact John Zigler. If he doesn't have a crank he can get yours rebuilt for you.

You can send your crank core to WSM and they will send you a rebuilt one , then bore the cylinders .020 and get a top end kit for it also at WSM.
