    Polaris 780 bogging

    I have a polaris 780 that runs great out of water in it boggs and hard to stop. Just had carbs professionly rebuilt new fuel lines compresion is 120 i was told thats a little low but is it low enough to make it bogg? Now im supecting fuel pump. If i hook up a gauge and run it in water what should pressure be. What else could it be

    120 isn't bad at all.

    What did the guy set up the pop off pressure at?

    Where are the hi and low carb screw settings?

    Fuel pump should be 1-2 psi at idle and 4-6 psi at WOT

    He said he set everything to spec on the jets and i think i heard him say 12 ir 18 on the pop off

    OK, well the jets should have been re-used (and stock as long as previous owner didn't change anything)

    As for pop off, 12 or 18 is still too low (stock for a 650 or 750) but the 780 needs 20-24

    What are his carb screw settings?

    Obviously his "specs" are wrong according to pop off pressure....

    Does it bog, or does it sputter and gurgle and then go? Popoff too low should make it run rich. Does using the choke help or make it worse?

    Its just boggs and wont go very fast no sputtering or dying just full trottle and no speed not very high rpm though and choke makes no difference

    Also its exactly the same as befire carb rebuild no chang what so ever . i want to replace the fuel pump is it better buy new or rebuild kit be fine. if i do buy new how many liters per min are needed

    Ok i just ran it on the hose and pulled the wires one at a time the rear cly has no effect on the way it runs when wire is off runs bad when pull eaither other wire. Thought plug or coil so swaped with the middlemno change also the cly is cool to the touch versus warm in the middle and hot on the third. So what is happening loosing compression when running or what?

    If puling the spark plug wire off makes no change in engine RPM while running, that cyl is not firing.

    Get a spark tester and see if it's getting sprk. Most likely not.

    Try this first. Unscrew the spark plug boot. Cut about 1/4" of wire off to expose fresh wire. Then rescrew the plug boot back on and zip tie.

    See if that helps.

    PS: it still sounds like the carbs need attention by pop off pressure. And why aren't you answering all of my Q's?

    If you want help, I need answers.

    Sorry dident know im missing qs im on a phone and its hard to do anyway i put that coil plug and wire on a differnt cyl and it ran that cly just fine
