How do I hook up my pulse lines? Side draft Mikuni 44"s

I got a set of Mikuni 44"s for my 650 mod ski & I'm unsure how to route the pulse lines. I'm running 785 cases with 2 pulse ports & the carbs have individual fuel pumps. Short of yanking the motor & adding a 3rd port how can I set this up? Can I split one line & run 2 carbs on it?

Best not to split a pulse line between 2 carbs, then you end up with 2 carbs not getting enough fuel. The best option is to fit another pulse line. I have tapped into the reed case behind the reeds before and had good luck with that. Or, you could run both return lines off of the pulsed carbs into a T and use that as the feed for the unpulsed carb.

I looked at that option, tried to use the intake off a center carb I had laying around but I don't have enough room. Can I gut the fuel pump & just feed through it?

You can pull the check valves out and run straight thru the pump just make sure you have a restrictor in the return line of the non pump carb to help keep pressure up thru the system.

Just add a 3rd pulse line. You can do it without pulling the engine. Buy the kit listed here and I will tell you how. You WILL need an angle drill.http://www.watcon.com/Catalog_Pages/...se_Fitting.htm

It started life as a 650 back in '92 but it's grown! It's more of a ported, piped .25 over 750 now. Jetting should still be fun. I found the PSI pipe install post here & it had some jet info so I'll start there.

    OK, that sounds better.

A couple of us have drilled a reed spacer for an additional pulse fitting.

Thant sounds easy, you'll get a good strong pulse? I already set the center carb. on the PTO & MAG returns if that doesen't pan out I'll try that. Thanks!
