    After Ride Info

I am spending a good bit of time in Katy now and leaving one of my skis there. Well this past weekend we went ride down in Kemah and Galveston. I did the normal washing but I like to do more. I like to dip the trailer and actually run the ski in fresh water. I feel that in the driveway all the salt is not gotten out of everywhere in the ski or trailer. Is there a place in the Katy area or fairly close where I can dunk the trailer and run the ski. I am not looking for a nice place to ride just to run the ski around for a couple minutes to really rinse the ski.

    Man,
I don't know of anything in the Katy area but I am sure there has to be something near there. With the drought that we have had, even the places that were partly brackesh are probably more salty than ever. The only fresh water places that I can think of is in Crosby or Conroe which would be over an hour away. Good luck.

Yes she mentioned Conroe. I was just not wanting that 2 hour round trip before my 5 hour ride home. I am not leaving it there that long. I am rinsing the heck out of everything but I know that doesn't get it all out. The salt is way up from where it normally is they were saying.

How far are you from the Brazos river? That may be the closest thing. But with the drought it may be dry.

Not far at all there was enough water in it where we crossed it on 99 but I could not find where a launch was.

    time in Katy eh...hummmm....

Boat ramps upriver from the coast on the Brazos are scarce. Friend out west has to wench his john boat off and on the bank, then up on the trailer. I'll see him tomorrow and ask if he knows of a ramp somewhere and let ya know for future reference.

Was out that way Wed evening-- friend says no way to launch a jet ski where he puts in on the Brazos. His large ponds are dry too so SOL there.
