Slt 750 will not rap out

Hello just got the ski on the lake and it will not rap out. It is just very boogie. Last year I rebuilt the carbS. Jets are set on 1 turn out on the small jet and 1/2 turn on the big jet. New fuel pump once I replaced the piston closes to handlebars. With a hole burnt in it. The first piston (closes to the rear is cool compared to the other 2. I don't know what it could be. Maybe reeds? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the Hulk.

Rap out and very boogie are terms we're not familiar with. How about more commonly used definitions and what year ski?

I can tell you already, your crab settings are already off.

Sorry. The ski is a 1996. it has a blue engine. The engine will not reach full rpm.

    Sorry 4man, SLT 750 wasn't made in 1996. Only 1994 and 95.

What's the last 2 digits of your hull number?

The Fuji 780 was used in 1996-1997 and the Fuji 750 was used from '93-'95.
Those generic high and low speed needle settings are not good.

For example. If your ski is a 1995 SLT750 these are the carb settings:
    Low Speed 1/2 turn out

    High Speed
    MAG 1 turn
    CEN 1/2 turn
    PTO 3/4 turn

So, with your settings the engine is running rich at low speed and at high speed your center cylinder is just right, PTO is lean and MAG is extremely lean. If you keep running the engine like this you run the risk of burning holes in those two pistons again.

If your Ski is a 1996 SLT780 the carb settings are:
    Low Speed 1 3/8

    High Speed
    MAG 1 1/8
    CEN 7/8
    PTO 1 1/4

Finally, if one cylinder is cool, it may not be firing well. Unthread the spark plug boot, trim 6mm off the end of the plug wire, then thread the boot back on. That may give better contact and stronger spark.

Yup it's a 1995. My bad. Also which is the high and which is the low jet. T or round. Also do you know the carb settings for a 1995 sl650? Thanks.

    Your carb screws are easy.

The one mounted high on the carb are High

The ones mounted low are low (T handle)

    95 SL 650

    Hi M 1 1/8 C 1/4 P 7/8

low 1 turn OUT from a lightly seated position

    I don't think they made a SL 780 in 1997.
