Even after the reflash your experiencing this? After my reflash, my DESS was much better than with the stock ecu for some reason.

Re-flash did nothing for that, I understand it needs an update but I would need minumum 2-3 hours out of my day, hour drive each way and then the tech speaks no english and is likely an illegal.......It's not that I want to be the 4-tec guru but but incompetence runs rampant arouind post-katrina new orleans. People wake up every morning around here a little dumber than they went to bed. I am convinced it's something airborne and I wear my respirator often in public

Thanks guys. I thought 1651 was the DESS key routine! Usually I can just mess with the key and get it to work, but yesterday it was not cooperating. That Candoo link is a great resource.

I don't know if the re-flash has the update or not. Without the update you have 1 second to get the key on the post after the reed switches are closed by the magnet in the key. The update simply extends this time to a few seconds. So try and put the key on faster... Also do you have another key? See if it does the same thing, helps eliminate a bad key.

if the key is awkward to get on seadoo dealers have a tool that crimps the steel ring on the post to make it the same shape as earlier skis as the later ones were made with a sharper steel ring and the key gets stuck while going on.
