    2008 RXTX Looose mirrors

I have a 2008 RXTX with loose mirrors. It looks like I need to remove the hood cover to get to the screws that hold the mirrors on; but I have not been able to remove the cover from the black base. I have removed all of the screws and the two bolts and the latch bolts but still unable to get the cover to move. If anyone can tell me what I am missing it would be greatly appreciated ! thx wav

Mine are loose also as was my RXT before that. I remember removing all the screws and the bolts that hold the latch, then having to pry the black base very carefully.

I know what you mean. I need to my TX also. But I keep putting it off.

The mirror has a nut and spring behind it to tighten if it is set up like my RXP. If I remember correctly, I removed the top storage bucket and was able to reach the 10mm nut with a 1/4" wractchet. The nut and spring are part 15 and 16 below...
For the RXT hood, yeah, you'll have to access it from beneath.

Diagrams for RXP and RXT below

Thanks for the diagrams. Yes the problem is removing that cover off the base. After removing all the screws it remain securely attached so I have either left screws in there or there are other clips or the hood slides up or down on the base. Just not sure.

Grab it from the front of the ski (under the mirrors) and spread it apart while lifting. It is going to come off right before you think its going to break. Make sure you disconnect the gauge first.

you only need to pop the cluster out to tighten the mirrors
