Question about R&D 951 Head
I'm a yamaha guy so I don't know this motor. I bought this head for a friend of mine's 02 GTX. My question is, it uses O-rings to seal the chamber but how does it seal around the water jacketing? Do I need to use some sort of sealer around the jacketing? Thanks, Mike

Yes you need to use a high temp silicone. I used the copper permatex and never had a problem. You dont need to gob it on either. Just apply a nice even 1/8 bead all around. And after you run it and get it hot, go back and retorque all the head bolts.

I would use THREE BOND #1211 SILICONE LIQUID GASKET-This is the famous case-seal compound use by all pro PWC mechanics when assembling the top and bottom motor cases around the crank and crank seals. It is even used by the Original Equipment Manufacturers (factory companies. You can find it at most pwc stores. Or search google or ebay.I personaly hav e used this on 4 engines and this stuff works great. Happy holidays

either one works good, just make sure you have 49cc domes in that r&d head. If you have 46 cc domes, you may want to check squish and compression.
