    Painting my RXP

I was wondering about the cost of changing my grey to black on my 05 red RXP. If anyone has any ideas of the where about the price would be let me know. Yes I know that the 06' models are going to be black, but this was an idea before they came out so its cool.
    Thanks

I have one idea, don't do it.

Black looks awesome when it's perfectly clean but it's such a motherfucking pain in the ass to keep it clean it's not worth it.

I worked the boat show for the 04 season and we had a black and a yellow RXP there. By the end of the show the black looked like it was 5 years old because of the scratches and the yellow still looked like it just came out of the crate.

If you do paint it black make sure the coating is thick and you have lots of rubbing compound.

I keep a chamois in my boat...As soon as I pull it out of the water I have to give it a quick clean or else it is HELL to get the water spots off of it if they bake on!! It also helps to wax the crap out of it...

The water spray makes spots that bake into the finish when you are out riding the ski. By the time you get it out of the water to chamois it off, only wax will remove some of the spots....at least with the hard tanic stained water we have here in FL. Black is the worst color you could have, bar none.

Thanks for the replies. I just got back from the beach and man were the waves killer in the inlet There is nothing like coming off an 8 foot wave with the nose straight up in the air on a rxp. I could use the money I was going to paint it with to buy some performance parts in the future . I know what you mean about that black hard to keep clean, the hull of my ski is black and every little scratch can be seen, not that there are any and it has to be towl dried which takes even more time where I could downing more beers
