    Seadoo RXPX showing 999 hrs

Went to the lake yesterday and put the tether on and my guages are showing 999 hrs. pulled tether off , pulled battery off, nothing fixes the problem. Called seadoo dealer and they told me i might need a ecm..

Is the HOURS recorded in the ECM or the guages?

UPDATE: Seadoo dealer just called me stating the machine is showing it has 999hrs on their computer. Which they know it doesnt as it was there last week getting a oil change with 21 hrs.

So my next question is... If we leave the tether on will the hours turn over to 1000 hrs or 0????

Doesn't look like there's enough room for another zero.

If it still runs I'd rock it out.. and see what happens....unless it has warranty and get it changed.

My bet is the main relay stuck on, causing the hours to run up on the cluster. The hours stored in the cluster are the number of hours the ski has been powered. The hours in teh ECU are the number of hours it has run. Have them disconnect the cluster and read the vehicle again and see if the hours shown in buds are back to normal. If I recall correctly buds shows the cluster hours until the cluster is no longer there then it shows the ecu hours.

So to confirm, If i leave the tether on it will change the hours to 0 or stay at 999?

I left the tether on today for quite a while like an hour and its still at 999

They unplugged it and plugged it in and its still stuck on 999

The ECM shows the real hours on the machine.

    Also had another question...

If you leave your tether on for awhile the ski shuts down anyways doesn't it?
