    Water in Cylinders

Found this while probing around for the valve to piston contact on the Riva pistons. Pistons still look new but with the borescope was able to see water sitting on the #2 and #3 piston. Running open loop and the ARP studs. Guess I'll be doing like many others and going back with the OEM gasket this time. Was torqued perfectly and then retorqued after 2-3 heat cycles (none of which were at high RPMs). Good news is valves, pistons, and cylinder looks great. Cleaned everything up real good and coated with BRP fogging oil, that should hold it until next weekend. Sure hope I can get all the peices in before the weekend (Labor Day)....

    What pistons do you have?
    RS1000 or RS1001?

Not sure but I suspect the 001s. These are the ones with the reliefs cut all the way to the cylinder bore. Easy to look at and tell the difference. I posted a pic off the pistons I have in the other thread. These were purchased late in 2010, I think September......I posted the date as well. I threw out the original boxes the pistons came in so I dont have the part numbers.

    Too much pressure right?
Do as hydrotoys does & restrict the flow... 3/8 line I believe it is..

Steve and I talked about this for a good while. I asked his opinion and this was a statement he made that made me ask the question, why? I got one hell of a response.

open loop has nothing to do with it IMO. My Riva gasket blew when I was still closed loop. I think it has more to do with the stud torque.
