    XCHARGER

Just wanted to get input on the front housing of this xcharger, It has 18 hrs on it.

does this look like corrosion? it seems a little pitted and dark colored.

will this hurt performance or longevity in any way?

    hopefully the pic uploads

    thanks
    Bill

I purchased this on this forums classifieds, was told it had stock air intake . should I be worried about contamination of the housing behind the wheel? or the bearings? seller offered me a good front housing or a refund.

    what would you do?

    thanks

What does the rear of the sc look like? It's corrosion, but it it not going to corrode to the point of failure IMO! Take some 800 grit paper and sand it down then spray it with xps or some other protectant. Many will say not to do this but after riding in salt water, I fog the engine from the SC intake and from the TB until it dies. Wash the interior of the hull out with fresh water and then fog the engine bay with either WD-40 or some other anti-corrosive agent.

I wouldn't take the wheel off unless you really needed to. Get some salt away and rinse the charger while you have it out and then lightly sand the front housing with 800 and spray a protectant on it is what I would do.
