    sucked up some rocks

    i need some advice. just ruined my impeller and wear ring. i have an 05 gtx sc 185 hp riva stage 1 iwas planning to get the same impeller 13/20r. my ? is should i go with a plastic or stainless wear ring i would like some extra performance if possible. which is better? thanks!

    Plastic as it will be forgiving with debris ingestion. Stainless will NOT give. Suck up a rock and your toast. Think about it, if you go 60 miles up river or what ever distance and you ingest wood, rocks, or other debris you are toast and done for. If you ride in rivers etc I wouldn't do a stainless ring.

    I like the stainless but the plastic sure is cheaper and easier to change when needed. Performance wise there are no differences.

    ya the 1 inch rock is stuck in between the blades i went about 3 mph back. thanks!

    With a stainless ring you would not have been able to start it.

    no its easy. put new ring and pump in freezer a couple hrs old will pull out and new will slide in.
