Sucked up some seaweed into my VXR

Took 16 hours of riding for it to happen. Was out cruising on the river adn all of a sudden got a huge vibration and the rpms were about 5k and almost no acceleration. Thankfully I was about 50 yards from my marina. Pulled it in and got under the boat. Basketball sized clump of weeds. Pulled it out but the vibration was still there.

After doing a search here seems like some could have got caught around the shaft? Anything else I should check for?

It sits in the water but I am taking out as I hae to do the 10 hr service.

    It should be fine.
If/when that happens again-rev it up to 5000rpm, and hit the stop switch when you're at about 20mph or so.....repeat as necessary. This will usually cause a flow reversal and barf out whatever is stuck in the pump. I have used this several times for sea grass and twigs stuck in the pump.....works every time, and never had any damage.

You leave the ski sitting in the water?

This past weekend a friend had a water bottle cap stuck between two blades of the prop, it was causing a bad vibration until it yacked it up.

Taking it out of the water today so we will see what kind of nice things it has sucked in.

Do you mean actually sitting IN the water or on a lift or float?

Yeah thats not a good thing.....first problem is marine growth........second being chances of blisters....third possibility of sinking for one reason or another.....fourth is there isnt any sacrificial metals on a ski to absorb electrical fields associated with a marina........it will possibly corrode any metal on your ski in contact with the water........
