1996 polaris sl780 fuji engine will not spark almost everything tested and seems good

Hey guys. So i have a 1996 polaris sl 780 with the blue fuji engine and I am not getting any spark. spark plugs are good but nothing when cranked. The CdI was just replaced with one off ebay. THE coils, stator, plugs and all that seem to be the proper OHMS. IT will try and turn over but no spark. I guess the Cdi from ebay could be bad but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything else to test. Thanks a bunch fellas.

    Welcome to the Hulk.

Have you tested the kill switch? (grounding out)

Is there any signs of corrosion or water inside the elec box?

    Correct plugs? Gapped at .028?

What numbers are stamped on the CDI?

I tried disconnecting the kill switch. It's the black/yellow wire. Still nothing. No corrosion or water in the elec box. 78w96c are the numbers off the new cdi from ebay. I even tried disconnecting the mfd and tried that. still no spark... And i completely removed the plugs and boots, trimmed the wire and just tried to get a spark off the wire and again nothing.

Do you have all your grounds connected on the CDI side of the elec box?

    Should have:

Jumper from ground terminals on the other half.

    starter solenoid

    CDI

There's a chance the new CDI is faulty, is there a "known" good CDI you can try? Even a 750 CDI will work for testing purposes.

Are you sure the coils are wired in series properly?

    How strong is your battery?

Ya, I just checked all those. I checked the diagram and made sure my coils where in series. Checked all my grounds again. Do you think a shop would have a "known" good cdi i can test it with? I don't know where to get one. And what is the best way to test the stater? thanks so much for your help. you guys rock around here.

What's your location? Maybe a member nearby can help you out with a CDI.

Ohm test the stator according to the manual. Post #5 and 6 should help http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...lectrical-Fuji

How about posting a pic of the inside of your elec box? Maybe we can see something

you do need the manual and they are free, look for the link on this site from people giving advise on your issue mainly. You need to test magneto assy located behind the flywheel, these test are done in the electrical box with the negative battery cable disconnected. Your problem is most probably in the magneto assy ( stator coil and other coils located behind the fly wheel) Do the resistance tests as per the manual chapter two. I am not sure why you changed the CDI before other testing? I am having simular problems of no spark so follow my post as it may help you also. Good luck and keep me and informed when you get it back running as to the fix. Wayneh
