    starter bolt problems!

Could somebody please take a wrench to the 2 starter bolts and let me know what size those bolts are? My bolts are so corroded i'm not sure if it's a 9 or a 10mm, and I don't want to try the wrong size. 9 won't quite go on, and 10 seems to big

10mm on a Fuji engine for sure.

Pretty sure it's the same for the domestics.

PS: normally helps when you tell us what ski you have

I found that most of the nuts/bolts are either 10 - 12 - or 14 mm for most cases. I usually started rounding heads when using odd numbers....

Right. A 10 won't fit, they are too corroded. I guess i'll try pulling the exhaust pipe off tonight and try to get a set of vice grips on them, if they break...I guess i'll be pulling the motor to drill them out

So now I get to pull the motor , there is just no heads left on the starter bolts. Any advise before I yank it anyone? I guess I have to pull the exhaust pipe (which I already did) and the carbs, and whatever hoses and cables...and just yank it right?

Can't get em out with any rounded bolt head type tools either?? Might want to grind a slot for a screw driver or grind(dremel) the heads off, pull the starter, then try to PB and Pipe wrench the remaining studs out before pulling the motor. If you do, drive shaft/motor alignment will be a major concern when reinstalling the motor.

You can't remove the starter with just the bolt heads cut off. The stud will still be holding the starter in place.

If they rusted that bad, they must not be SS bolts.
