LOL, your funny BOB, This is Iowa, there are no lakes in Mid Iowa, just dammed up creeks and rivers.

About 1/2 way is Iowa City. Coralville Lake, OK, really it's a 16 mile long river that's held back by a dam. But the water is a steady height, there are areas that are smooth and open to Let 'er Rip. There is motels near and camping on the river if you want. Let me know when your coming and we'll meet you there.

Our river is too low to run in right now.

Mid Iowa?...lol We have puddles to ride in this time of the year. Be lucky to float a canoe in the Des Moines river right now. Red Rock isnt a bad place..

What about lake rathbun or red rock?
Never been on red rock but I enjoyed my rides on rathbun. Camping, hotel, restaurant, golf, indoor water park, lots of ramps to launch

Rathbun in my opinion best. Red Rock mucky and shallow. My favorite is Lewis and Clark Reservoir above Gavins point dam in Yankton . It divides Nebraska and S.D. Plenty of room to let them rip.
