Had some problems with the 300 today

Felt like it was breaking up as soon as I took off from the ramp- it started clearing up a bit but a took the seat off for a look- lots of oil spewing from my little R&D filter fitted on the relief valve (blow off valve is blocked off, so no filter there).

I also noticed that there was a buzzing sound coming from the solenoid on the throttle body- don't remember hearing that before... is that the norm? Anybody else's do that?

Good news is I checked the exhaust filter when I got home (43 hrs) and it looks to be in great shape! I'll post a pic later...

Why so much oil out of that relief valve filter though? When I took the stock hose off there was very little evidence of oil in it or the stock airbox (have the Riva PF now). The oil didn't look to be overfilled when I went out.

Gotta get some exhaust gaskets to put the filter back in. Then I guess I'm getting rid of the relief valve filter and going back to the stock hose- but I might still have a problem with the ski.

i posted months ago on removing the bypass filter and going back to oem vacuum hose because of that very reason sometimes the engine breathes heavier and dumps the oily mess and yes they all make the buzzing sound when you insert the key im with waz and start with plugs.

My first problem is figuring why it is dumping so much oil back into the air intake as I think this is the cause of the engine not running properly.

Nic: what oem vacuum hose are you referring to- top of the catch can to airbox? If so why would you have removed that to add the filter to the relief valve.

I feel you may be right because Riva supplied a larger diameter hose (top of catch can to PF tube) with their PF... maybe that, coupled with the new location of the hose is creating too much vacuum in the catch can?

Lots of oil in the intercooler.

Do a leak down and compression test if you suspect something is wrong. Is your oils level dropping.

...More importantly, what color is your ski?

Right now I suspect that the Riva PF kit is creating a bit too much vacuum in the stock catch can. I believe that oil has been gradually entering the air intake and accumulating in the intercooler finally reaching a level where it was introduced into the throttle body- causing the engine to stumble and the filter (R&D on the relief valve) to puke.

Oil level has drop very little and I have been adding accordingly... but now I think I know where its been going- into the intake tract and pooling in the IC.
