Polaris 750 SLT Fuel Tank pressure build up

Hello all - I have searched the forum and found several topics addressing this issue. However, I have not seen any resolutions or solutions to the problem.

    1994 SLT 750

I have recently rebuilt my ski with all new fuel lines, filters, 3 outlet pump, and fuel lines inside the tank (tygon). The tank builds up quite a bit of pressure evidenced by a release of pressure when the gas cap is off. I have traced down the vent lines and even replaced both inlet and outlet vents with sealed brand new factory OEM replacement vents. The pressure did not build up while the old vents were removed and the tank was open to the atmosphere.

I am a little surprised at the effort required to "open" the outlet vent when blowing through it. Not sure what this is supposed to release at, I remember reading 1.5 psi somewhere. Seems like it takes quite a bit more than that........

Any ideas or recommendations on switching to a different vent check valve??

My 94 SLT required about 2-2.5 PSI to open, which is about 0.5-1 PSI more than the average person can generate. I know my buddies 00 SLH and my 99 SLH were the same way. Mine was checked using a pressure regulator and detailed 0-10 PSI gauge.

1.5 psi is what it should open at.

No big deal if it creates a little bit more. Just make sure to use your shut off valve when not in use. the only real prob you may have is if it pushed fuel past the needles and pools up fuel inside the engine.
