    Supercharger failure

O.K. so a buddy of mine had a stock 08 RXT-X supercharger touchdown and fail.there is fine dust particulates on the intercooler as well as the charger however no particulates on the out put side. The charger also has a few bearings that came out through the hole where you can see the bearings and so forth.Funny thing is it still spins freely but the wheel makes a scrapping noise. I would like to at this time pull the oil pumps off and inspect the screens as well as replace the whole charger with the a new one.I assume that the bearings may be in the motor, and wanted to see if you guys would just suggest pulling the motor out and split it apart and just clean out the whole deal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

o.k so Austin and I looked at the charger and found that the bearings on the back side were no good. The plastic race was completely gone and the bearings look like almost square chicklets. LOL. My question is can I get away with just an oil and filter change or should I pull the motor and pull the pumps and so forth? what do the pro's think? Austin how bout you? By the way the gear tooth on the charger are perfect and doesn't show any scaring. Everything looks good imho.

I suggest you pull the engine out of the ski, remove PTO cover, both pumps, oil filter, and the oil cooler.....inspect & flush accordingly. The rear bearing has 7 ball bearings......if you have all of them then splitting the cases may not be necessary.

the bearings are there all 7. I was thinking it would be o.k. to just change oil and filter and go from there.

The trash ends up there so if it's clean you MAY have gotten lucky enough to do the oil change. I wouldn't trust it if it were my ski, though.
