    SP spark then no spark

I just finished an engine swap 587. Took bad out and install a used working engine into a 1996 SP. New engine I have no information on but was said to run. It was a complete long bock with exhaust, carb, stator etc... The wires coming out of the stator were cut so I had to solder a new plug in.

So heres the problem. I know it'll probably need a carb rebuild but I have gotten it to start and run when cold. After about 1 to 5 minutes of running, I try to start again but it has no spark. I wait till tomorrow and it'll start again, but loses spark after a few minutes. Not while running only if it is turned off and I go to restart.

Sort of feel like it may be bad stator but wonder if it could be a coil cdi or the Mepm. I think the MEPM is OK. I have a used electrical box off a a GSX. It was working before the engine blew. But the computer is different. Coil looks the same. Stator look same but a different color.

Is there a test for the stator/mag before I go pulling the engine?

Found problem. It was a bad pin in the the stator connector. Was arcing due to bad connection.
