    I can't identify a hose on a 99 XPL

    1999 XPL

I have a clear hose that's not connected on one end that I can not identify. One end is connected to a vent under the front of the seat to the right of center, next to the gas vent.

Does anyone have an idea where the other end connects?

    Thanks, John

    Probably the battery vent.

I have a 96 GTX with a very similar hose and could not identify it in the service manual. Posted on here a month or so ago and was told it is the battery vent. Most of the new gel cell batteries dont have a vent anymore so I just cut it off.

I think you're right. The new battery's vent line is just dangling into the bilge.

But, why is the battery's vent line so much smaller? Do I need some kind of adapter?
