Estimated prices for 4 tec rebuild?
So my RXP is @ 199 hours. While it seems to be running just fine, GPSing this past season in the upper 70s, Im thinking of the inevitable. I do not do machine work myself nor do I rebuild motors. With the block out, what prices am I looking at for a mild rebuild, top and bottom end (parts and labor).
Running an ET 137 wheel now and no plans for adding more boost.
Trying to stay somewhat recreational with this, but I am thinking of bumping up to 8500 RPMS with RIVA ECU.
I'm at the point where Im deciding whether to just keep it as is for a spare ski and go with an '12 next spring, but If I can do something reasonably priced with this and get 81-82 Id jump on it.

What's your compression? If it's good leave it alone. The bearings seem to last very well if the oil was changed regularly. You can also tee into your block and check your oil pressure as a barometer of bearing and oil pump condition. Apart from that I would just check the valve train. Make sure the valves, springs, seals and guides are good.
If you actually do need to tear it down it gets expensive fast. Some rough estimates-
Full gasket set $300
Rings $250 or oversized pistons $750-$850
Riva valve train $500
timing chain $90
valve job $100
bore and hone $100
deck head $50
polish crank $75
head bolts $80
rod bolts $60
rocker shaft bolts $30
flywheel bolts $15
I'm sure I'm missing some stuff and prices will vary but this is a ballpark anyway, $2,000-$3000

I just pulled apart a 05 with 200hrs on it. Been running a RIVA ecu for the last 40. Cant believe how good the bottom end was in this machine. Honing marks still intact. Beautiful bronze coloring in the cylinders. The burn on this machine was perfect. Have to give RIVA credit on their tuning.

cause hes a local and ive told him i would hook him up on a rebuild.
HardmanGT- Those labor rates are borderline crack head prices. I would question the quality of work at that rate
