    how close are these to being true to a average garman or any gps

    They are pretty close. It takes longer for them to register. They are not as accurate however...

    You could see how close it is yourself: Provided you don't have over-sized rims, check it against your car speedo on the interstate. This should at least give you a good calibration or margin of error.

    I have the one called MAX SPEED; it's free on the Apple Store and it was developed by a Green Hulk member. I have tested it against my vehicle and also my Garmin and it's very accurate.

    my phone app is max speed too and is dead on
