Quick question on block guard orientation

I'm about to put my machined head back on, but before I tap this new block guard in place, I'd like to confirm that this is the correct orientation (since it's nearly impossible to remove). This way matches up to the holes in the head better, but that leaves only four tiny holes for the coolant to flow through up top. Seems to me that the top would need the most coolant flow.

I know there's a big debate on whether or not the block guard slows the coolant too much, and the general consensus seems to be that it doesn't. Looks to me, when I hold the block guard against the head, that it's blocking about 75% of hole area.

Went out to 4-Tec store, and they do show it in this same orientation. Hell, would a couple more holes up top have hurt?

I apologize for talking to myself here... don't want to confuse anyone with this post. Now, I've lined up the gasket, and see the block guard matches up perfectly with the holes in that, so there's no way it can hinder coolant flow. Whew... sorry, my first rebuild.

No worries. Sometimes you just have to do that. It is perfectly normal to talk to yourself, even in open forum.
