Have some old oil, ok to use?
Hi all! Haven't been on here much. Had a great Labor Day weekend riding. Hope everyone did too.
Quick question, I have like 12 quarts of the old original Sea-Doo yellow bottle oil for the SC 4-tec skis. It's kept in my shed where the temps range from 45 degrees to 100+. Ok to use this when I do an oil change this winter?
Want to make sure oil can't go "bad" in its sealed container.
EDIT: The oil quarts are probably 3 to 4 years old if that matters.

I would not chance it. Oil in a sealed container is good for up to 5 years in a temperature stable enviornment. But you have had some big temperature changes.

I would not use it unless it was sealed and kept in the same temperature

Do not take my word for it. Look at what another major oil manufacture says. Remember you will probably be at 5 years when you are done. The oil is the lifeblood of the engine. The additive packages can start to break down.
ExxonMobil recommends a*five year maximum shelf-life for engine oils, including Mobil 1.*
