skat is a 3 blade solas is a 4 blade ..3 blades give better hole shot ..but you will lose about 2 mph up top....imo the 4 blade gives alot better mid as well..say running 50 and hit it...as for pitch a 3 blade of the sme pitch takes alot more to turn...so you if you are running a solas 4 blade and put in a skat 3 blade of the same pitch you will be down guessing about 1000 rpm..all the top end numbers are done on a solas..4 blade..but you will like a 3 blade in the chop...it is preferances..who likes what..and what and how you ride..

I use 3 blade impellers due to choppy seas!
But I love the mid and top end of the 4 blade props!

"If you are looking for hole shot, go with the 4 blade"
Ya got it backwards.. 3 blade with the right treatment will be the best hole shot. 4 blade on top end speed for sure.
If you take 2 skis with identical setup & same speeds with the same 4 blade impellers & then you tweak a 3 blade for optimal performance on one of the skis the other ski with the 4 blade will be faster on top but the 3 blade will be "Quicker", and if there's any descent chop the 4 blade will be playing catch up all day long.. It takes a while to catch up if it's a mixed flat/slop to chop day on the water.... Just sayin....
