Can I sell a trailer if I don't register it in IL?

So we bought a GP1200R last month and it came with a single trailer. We plan to buy another machine in the spring for my wife so we'll a double trailer at that time. Illinois wants $100 to register the single trailer which I can't see doing since I'm selling it in the spring. Can I sell it though if I don't register it / transfer title?

How long can I use it before I have to get plates? 30 days or 60? I was thinking about taking it out one more time this year. We bought it on 8/4.

    Thanks!

You are supposed to transfer register within 30 days I believe It's on DMV web sight get the real one no multi state info they are wrong alot.....I wouldn't say that's a good reason to not date or buyer sign a title on something. You would not be the first person to pass a title on to the next guy. The ski transfer is 30 days as well. The last owners signature in the " right spot" is job one trust me.
I have pulled alot of trailers plated and not without a problem.....That ones on you

Use a Wisconsin address on the bill of sale and you don't have to worry about the titling issue.

I'm really thinking about Maine. They register trailers no matter if u live there or not, and the tags are $90 for 5 years. And they only need a bill of sale.
