    Wiring help on 02 Freedom ..

    OK I have NO spark so I checked battery and it is good. Checked standing and cranking both good. I was looking around to check fuses and such and noticed this wire coming from the breaker fuse in the black box. It looks like it may have been hooked up before and now it is just hanging free. Does anyone know if and where it goes ?

    Red witha purple strip, It goes no where. Just had the Virage box open and same thing. They may have used the same harness on different versions (1200) but not used on the twin.

    The virage also has a gray with red stripe coming in with a male spade connector from the main harness not used in it.

    Thanks. I wasn't sure. I lost spark last time out and just trying to track down and figure out why now.

    You need to have at least 10.6 volts cranking on the red/pur going into the CDI (yes,it has an orange at the end where it connects to the board )

    OK should I test while connected to the board or unhook and test wire or the board connection ?

    I am going to go buy a new battery right now just because I need it for my XL 1200. So I will test it with a new battery also.

    Got the new battery and didn't change anything. Still no spark.

    After reading a lot and thinking about this more. I checked everything I can think of. I am thinking maybe it is the CDI box. Anyone have one they want to sell ?

    Is there a way to test the CDI ? Also going to try and check the lanyard switch.

    Well I decided to check the LR-505 and I now smoked it or the CDI . I unhooked the battery to try and bypass the 505 and when I reconnected all the wires bypassing it. I noticed smoke and it tripped the breaker. So I must of had something touching that I didn't see when hooking the battery back up.

    So any one have a whole black box they want to sell for a 02 Polaris Freedom carbrated
