    please have a look and tell me what you think

    guys pulled head off last night to get head skimmed and to have a look before key and vf 11 go in and replace head..the ski has 60 hours on and looks to me to be far to rich but the e.f.i has only been on for 3 tank fulls proir to head pull..can you let me know what you all think..hope i caught it in time if far to rich my e.f.i is not set correct yet but my settings have not been above 5.5.1.9 last run steved and i were pulling the 5's down to 3'
    these are engine mods to date

    d plate
    e.f.i
    riva filter no sock
    reed stuffers hence the vf11 now
    lots of air mods
    also run on yami lube so expected to be lots of carbon deposits

    Looks a little rich, but it is fine.

    Did you wipe the tops of the pistons ?

    it does look a little rich. i think there should be a tad more black to it

    had to dab piston crowns as little water off head had dripped in.. thanks for advice will skim head fit reeds and set up e.f.i and post wash all back and running..

    Before you go any further i would sit down next to your ski and have a cool beer
    Looks a bit rich but a few clicks on the EFI unit will sort that out ! Good to see the start of the brown piston crowns .
    Good luck with the next mods catch you soon .

    I'm no EFI guru, so don't take my advise, , but doesn't almost look like the PTO cylinder is soooooooooo rich that it's washing the piston top clean??? (mostly clean)

    (additional disclaimer: I have zero knowledge of the EFI's!!!)

    The reeds alone with same efi settings just might cure that instantly.

    steve on our sunday out testing we had gone from 6.6.1.9 down to 3. 3. 1. 9 any lower and i may as well bin the e.f.i. unit and run stock settings,waiting on gaskets when all back will run and check with your bore scope..but i do feel i will be wound so far back on e.f.i i should be at stock,thats where we saw my biggest number and that was summer weather..going slower now it nearly freezing with a e.f.i..

    john wont the new reeds just supply faster delivery and in greater ammounts put me straigh bud..need to learn when barking up the wrong tree..
