Digging through the archives for the best info...but....still need an answer.

Ok, so I have been digging to find a definitive answer as to what is the best fuel to run in my 2011 RXT X 260 (with some mods) for peak performance. I currently have been using 94 Petro Canada fuel (formerly know as Sunoco 94). I am considering using NOS Octane boost but all info steers me back to 91 Octane and no boosters. Just want a cut and dry answer.

SHOULD I RUN: 91 with the NOS Booster?
    94 with NO booster?
    94 with the NOS Booster?
or just good 'ol 91 with no booster...

Hitting the water tomorrow am so give the goods fella's....

I don't know the difference if any between U.S. and Canadian fuel....but I would just run the 94 by itself and leave it at that.... octane booster is a load of shit any way.....I've been running 93 since the day I got my ski with zero issues......

I hear ya. I have never used any octane boost products, just looking for a little edge. Wondered if it worked.
    Thanks for the reply.

Additional octane over what's best at your pump is a waste unless you have sick mods like plenty of boost etc.
And judging from your sig, your engine is bone stock, so premium at your local pump is quite sufficient.

Perfect, thanks...you just saved me 17 bucks and a trip to the store.

    Cheers!

Yea octane is one of those things that's only worth it if your motor requires it. Kind of like air and exhaust... Adding air or creating less back pressure only benefits if your motor's configuration requires it. I tried 100 octane from the pump mixed about 50/50 with 91 octane and I barely felt anything at all. No extra speed and I barely felt it pulling harder out of hard long turns. So, fresh plugs with 91 octane is all my motor needs and I'm doing 77-80+ with my set up - depending only on air temp and water conditions

This is correct. I have been running sunoco 101 and found out 2 days ago I was wasting my time and money. It can actually cost you some power if it is not needed. Go figure???

I have seen some racers in stock or limited class bouy racing add a bit of 106 to the tank, they say it makes the engine run a little cooler for 10 to 12 laps,

higher octane fuel only helps reduce pre detonation which keeps the ecu from pulling timing due to high knock count...especially in hotter, high boost conditions.

Ive used 106 oxygenated vp race gas with the NOS octane boost and it makes ya go just a a couple mph more.
