00XPL, Loss some Revs
Have a 00 XPL. Ski turning only 6500rpm. But when you hit waves in the rough chop, ski will rev up to about 7100, it will stay there until you get off the throttle, and then back to around 6500, I have checked the hose going to the rave valves and hose under the ski, no leaks. The rave valves are clean. Have pulled the water regulator to check it. What do I look for?? I doesn't seem to be leaking. Any other thing to check..

yep, clean your carbs. Your little filters inside the carbs can be clogged up. Clean them and see if that solves your problem.

Remove the check valve close to the engine and clean with carb cleaner. It may be this or the solenoid mounted to the hull is failing or has a loose connection. All this is on the RAVE hose.

check the black wire that runs from the TPS to the mpem, on mine the the female end inside the plug to the mpem slipped back and wasn't contacting until I hit some chop momentarily contacting and the revs would shoot up to 7000, without the connection the mpem will not retard timing to reach those revs

take a closer look at the water regulator..just cause its not leaking doesnt mean its working
