    250x any mods worth while??

I'll start with, I didn't buy this ski to be very fast, it is somewhat additive to run in the 60's however.
I'm more interested in anything that will help with power and durability. Like maybe the second water box removal?? A little better sound and it's almost impossible to blow all the water out of the stock setup. A ride plate for smooth water??

I would like to hit 70 and not blow it up or drop a lot of money in the process. For me 70 is fast enough, I ride in a river most of the time and that speed will pass 98% of everything on the water around here.

Just beware with timing advancement. I did mine to about 4 degrees and got about three rides out of it before I had problems. In saying that it was discovered that my ski had a porous cylinder head from factory which didn't help. If I were you I'd go simple with a ride plate, wedge and impeller. Wont cost you the earth and your not stuffing around with engine reliability.

Just fyi Most people don't mod the timing wheel correctly which results in way more timing then they believe they have. It's very easy to cut to much and go way over what u want. Sounds like the head was more the issue in your case.

+1 timing has never hurt unless you used shit fuel or ground to much out btw it wasnt a porous head rather a shit casting hope they replaced it with a 2010 model head as they hopefully rectified the issue with that model, btw i went through two heads on my 250 before kawasaki rectified it with the 2010 cast.

Correct Timing at 6 degrees IS VERY SAFE as long as it is cut 6 degrees adv

Sounds good guys, I think I'll stay a little on the safe side. Maybe 4 on the timing, 1 degree wedge. I might try another pulley on the blower. I wonder if the flash changes timing and if I do the timing mod the compound timing changes might add up a little high.
I really want to remove one water box and mod the exhaust, if there is no downside.

6 degrees is the BEST and safest mod you can do............and is 100% safe

Forget about pulley unless you are prepared to spend money as it WILL start to add up for really not massive gains

Reflash is not a cost effective mod on a 250 for a rec rider , the free mods and timing etc are your best shot.
